It's black and looks and feels like scabs on his chin, but its not blood. It was on his face by his lips, but I put peroxcide on it, and his hair came off, but the stuff went away. (I am now doing the same to his chin) but its worse, and I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what it is. He is not in pain, except when I clean it, otherwise he seems fine. (no one who lives in the house has ever caught it, so it doesnt appear to be contagious.)
Thanks!

I'm no vet, but I do have four cats. The stuff on it's chin could be from fleas. I've come to realize that some cats act differently to flea bites.

And I wouldn't do the peroxide. But if you are really concerned I'd take her to a vet. Besides, she may need a check up anyway.

Hopefully that helps!

probably is scabs, could be from fleas or acne, cats do get acne around the mouth and on the chin, sometimes caused by dirty food dishes or even plastic food dishes can trigger it, sometimes as in the case of my cats..they just get it- I have 7 cats, 5 are littlermates (rescue kitties like yours) and some get it and some don't, most times when my cats get it, it goes away on its own but I will clean it or take them to the vet to have a particularly bad "pimple" cleaned out

Any stray you find should be taken to the vet to get checked out anyway. Just take him.
