Why do people think interms or respecting other beliefs... not rescuing people from abuse if going 2b hurt?

ie if a group stones people to death for dating or being gsy.

Why say its their beleifs and we respect them...

Why not be horrorief somone is about to be hurt who could be your sister or say you.

And want to resque them...

ie no beliefs on gods, cultures, traditions, relgions etc.

Just are people heros, hurters or victems

Ok how about we all respect Inca or Myan relgious folk...

You know respect their relgion and allow them to buld their temples with sacrifical posts to cut out hearts, and carry out their traditions of raiding villages and taking slaves and people for sacifice, cutton out hearts and hacking off heads to worship their gods like in Apocalyto.

Thats what respecting peoples beliefs means, and respecting culture, and tradition it means you support human sacrifice.

or honour killings, or abusing gay people, or forced aranged marriage, or repressive dress codes, or sexsim, or homophobia, or abuse of those who are sexaully active when single, or nude models or single mums etc.

Ie all nasty bully actions... just like human sacrifice.

So why not ignore all relgions, tradtions, cultures etc...

And divide all actions into nice, not nice, and rescuing people from not nice cultures making them illegal & saving the peopl

Ie bollywood, curry, noodles, karate, art, music... all are positive cultural traits, tradional parties, giving money to charity...

All good.,

But forced arrnaged marriage, covering up, abuse of gays, sexaul repression all bad.

Of course one should try to bodily protect another from being injured! Someone's beliefs have nothing to do with their basic human rights.

But, as many here I'm sure can tell you, some people are bent on self destruction, whether with sex, alcohol, gambling, anger and (fill in blank here)_____________.

There is no amount of prayer, coercion, force that will "save" a person going down that road.

As far a heroes, hurters, or victims, it is inherent in human nature to be a little of all of these, and have a little of all of these.

It depends on the belief. I don't belive moslims have the right to stone a 13 year old girl to death. and yes I would do what I could to save her.
