less people more food and cheaper housing

Since when does normal make something right or wrong.

ie if everyone smokes and gets themself absolutely drunk and have fights ...

are you wrong as not the normal one,

How about if all ganging up on people, if all part of a gang doing drive bys,

what about those who beleived we would reach the moon, fly, break the sound barrier etc?

Or those who faught slavoury?

Likewise what about left handers, they aint normal, but useful.

Gays dont hurt, unecessary unjustified killing does hurt.

"Why is being gay not simply seen as natural population control?"

The nations that have populations that are increasing to rapidly are unaffected by homosexuality. Industrialized nations were homosexuality is common are experiencing far to drastic population decreases.( the U.S is an exception )
In the future this will be evident and a large problem.
Basically homosexuality does not help control the population.
Especially since some gays still reproduce since they don't realize there gay till later in life or aren't as gay as they claim.

You seem to be ignoring the basic human drive, to multiply!
That's a fundamental human 'instinct', for want of a better word.
And multiplying requires sex, heterosexual sex! I'm not homophobic, but I do admit to being 'uncomfortable' with homosexuality. I think everybody is, even gays (though that will never, understandably, be admitted) would, on balance, rather be straight. Homosexuality is, ultimately, a 'dead-end'.
I am at ease with gays, but you will have to admit they are 'out of sync', so to speak. And their association with public lavatory's, arguably the result of homophobia, is distasteful to say the least!

Because according to the Bible which is GOD'S word says it is wrong for man to lie with man. O.K?
