The tungsten is a needed metal, the glass can be used for other products, as can the brass in the base, so, they are an item to recycle. Personally, I'll keep my incandescents, thank you. They are not as bad a deal as people make them out to be. A lot of people like to get on band wagons to promote an idea that hasn't been carefully thought out. At 55, I have seen a lot more of these fads than many who show up here. Give it all a bit of time, I am sure that incandescent lamps will be around for quite awhile yet. One thing that an incandescent lamp can do is it can be reduced in brilliance a whole lot easier than the fluorescent lamps can be.

Though it is not common you can recycle incandescent light bulbs. so I say RECYCLE IT!!! other wise throw it away and be happy knowing that you won't have to buy another light for at least 2 years and potentially 10
