Many reasons:

Husband/wife will divorce them
Intervention programs set up by friends and family
Court order
DSS will remove the children

But the program will not be successful in the long run for the obvious reason - if the patient is not willing, the cure will not succeed, they will be back on Heroin.

Most likely something to do with a court preceding, but not necessarily a court order. For example, someone might go into treatment to make a good impression when it comes to the point in a divorce where child custody, visitation rights, child support, and alimony support, etc. are brought up.

Also there is the case of a court order. Someone who is arrested for selling or possessing drugs may receive an option of serving prison time (years), or simply spending a few months in a treatment program. Regardless of whether the person is wanting to get off of drugs permanently, the treatment program is a much better program to be in.

Sometimes when they move to a new area, or when their dealer has been arrested, they enter a drug treatment program to get hooked up with a new dealer. If it's the end of the month and they're out of money, they go into treatment programs to get drugs to help them get through until they can get more heroine. There are lots of reasons.

Its a bad drug I hear .And even if you wanted to quit they say you come out clean and then kill yourself od on the qrap later.I would hope they have a better chance today and support groups and someone to talk to can hopefully make a difference in someones life that thinks they dont need to quit.Maybe hearing someones elses story will open there eyes.If you dont wanna quit but are asking this question you must know you need to go for help.

maybe the person was court ordered. Or a family member has asked this person to enter re-hab. Depends on why the person is there.

If a court didn't order them too, and they aren't entering in for " looks or to look good ", then they probably are wanting help but just not willing to admit it yet.
