Picture Christ resurrected from the dead. Now picture His disciples dancing with joy! That is liturgical dance. (Actually, liturgical dance is dance intended for worship - and it would probably be planned dance, and not spontaneous).

Its is a mockery of our faith.
OK, its like this. in the olden days some 2000 or 1500 years ago, people supposedly danced when they met to worship, coz at that they were trying to experiment different ways to worship/pray.
Nowadays, churches have this so called Liturgical Dance, trying to repeat what people did in days gone by.
As I see it, it is basically reducing this sacred rite (the mass/praise worship) to a spectacle.
we come to Mass primarily to adore God We do not come to Mass to entertain one another. That's not the purpose of Mass. The parish hall is for that.
So all those that want to entertain us -- after Mass, let us go to the parish hall and then you can dance. And then we clap. But when we come to Mass we don't come to clap. We don't come to watch people, to admire people. We want to adore God, to thank Him, to ask Him pardon for our sins, and to ask Him for what we need.
Another reason why there is liturgical dance could also be coz, there a lot of people moving away from the Catholic faith to the others, where there is praise & worship with dance and rock/rap/rnb, you name it music & they dance to show that they are what? Happiness? nope that enjoying the music. Swinging to the music. Thats entertainment, not worship. You will find the same swinging if you go for an actual rock concert, in fact the rock concerts are atleast genuine.
The most powerfull prayer as I see it is talking to God in silence, not making a mockery by dancing and stuff.

Picture Christ hanging on the cross, dying for your sins. Now picture people DANCING around; spinning, twirling, perhaps with props. That is liturgical dance. Thrown up yet?
