I am a stylist. I also have oily hair. First off wash it everyday and do not use conditioner near your scalp. Some shampoo that are made for oily hair can dry your hair out. Some of them will dry your scalp out so much that the oil glands go into hyper speed and try to make up for the lack of oil. That can be soooo annoying. So what is the BEST solution? I have found that if I carry what is called a "dry shampoo or powder shampoo" in my purse I can go into the bathroom in the middle of the day and fix the oil slick I call my hair. There is a great one made by Bumble and Bumble. it comes in 3 or 4 colors. If you have blonde hair you can get by using a talc powder. Good luck. It works for me!

I had oily hair, and now that I'm a little older it is not as much of a problem. I used to use herbal essence shampoo and I also used conditioner but not near my scalp, just for the long hair to keep it lustrous. I do not know of anything that controls the release of oils on your scalp and if you have fine, thin hair (like my husband) the only solution I know iis to wash it frequently with a mild shampoo. I tried dry washing powders to soak up the oil but didn't like them. That is another thing you might try. Good luck! keepingitreal

The best solution would be to try either biolage's Normalizing shampoo and detangler ( the detangler is light on the hair to use at least on your ends or you could try Back to Basics Normalizing shampoo and conditioner. You can find those products at most salons. There both good products and it will help to normalize your hair to get a good balance. Also make sure your not goin to heavy on styling products near your root area. During the day you could try using either baby powder on your hair where its oily or also oil blotting sheets for you face you could try on your hair. Hope it helps:)

if you use conditioner use only a little bit and only apply it on the tips. and if you can don't use conditioner all the time...take a comb into the shower and brush your hair in the shower if only use shampoo. Good luck!
