Turin, "La Città Magica", is full of history (Turin was first capital for unified Italy, all the process begun there), culture (Museum of ancient Egypt is second only to Il Cairo's; Turin was also central in introducing cinema to the nation, a century ago), architecture, Alex Del Piero :) and a lot more. And if you like mysteries and/or esotericism you'll like Turin for sure!

You should definitely visit Torino. It is a seriously underrated city. There is a lot of history-it was originally a Celtic settlement (the city's symbol is still the bull). There is an incredible archaeological museum, as well as the Museo Egizio, which is the 3rd most important Egyptian museum in the world (the first and second being in Egypt and England). You can visit the Mole there-once a synagogue, now it is a cinema museum. Also visit Superga, the burial place of the Savoys. (You can take the funicular up the mountain for a fun excursion and great views.) There is great shopping in Torino, too. Try Via Garibaldi-nice stores and cafes, ending in a lovely piazza which houses the Palazzo Reale.

The shroud of Turin is kept in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, but it is no longer on display. (Someone tried to set fire to it!)

Visit Asti, as well. Great wine-Asti Spumante and candy-torrone. It still has a small town feel, but it has the services of a city. Beautiful churches and interesting museums-do not miss it! You can also enjoy a spa day at the Acqui Terme (natural hot springs). These are great for the body and soul. You should see the medeival tower there, too-the Torre Rossa. It is very interesting.

You should go to Turin(Torino) which is the capital of the Piedmont(Piemonte) region. Asti is also another beautiful city...not very big, but pretty. Then you should go up to the mountains as well.
