I have a 76' dodge motorhome , and i can't figure out what kind of motor it has in it. The block is to rusty to read the casting numbers. It probably has a 360 or a 318 in it. does anyone know how to distinguish the two motors?

Lots of Dodge motor homes had a 440. You can tell a 440 from a 318/360 because the distributor is on the front. The size for the B, RB engines is stamped on a flat on the front driver's side of the engine opposite the distributor. If the distributor is in the back, you will have to scrape the crud off the driver's side of the engine block above the starter. The size will be cast there in the block.

you can write down the vin number and call the local dealer. All vin numbers have a number reserved just for engine type.

If it is original to the MH it is a 360 for sure.
