i'll be arriving at Bangkok 2am. Avoid waking up my relatives, I'm looking for a place to hang out till morning. I'm travelling with my sister and cousin (so exotic massage offering overnight stay is not appropriate...)

stay at the DD house it has everything you want around it and has really cheap taxis to take you to pattaya which is really pretty and they serve as a tour gide dirt cheap and the dd house is cheap to remember this is bangkok so dont expect a really nice room but its clean they will tell you every where that is affordible not so touristy and you get to party the way the locals do and at their price also rember to barter because the first price can always be brought down

Your relatives will be more than happy to see you anytime you arrive at the airport. They won't feel good if they know later that you and your group have to hang around at the airport or somewhere else.
By the way, are you Thai? If you are Thai, you may know the custom. Even strangers, tehy'll treat them so that they can feel at home, why can't they do only a few things for relatives?
Just let them pick you as soon as you arrive at the airport.

Looks like you only have hours in-between your transit. So heading out of the airport will not be an option. However within the airport, there is a Traditional Thai massage centre where you can have a wholesome massagr for a couple of hours. Make enquiry from the airport staff on direction to get there.

you should realy wake up ur relatives. if ur thai, you know thais. wake up before the sun, always happy to see people, and VERY, VERY kren jai. most foreigners think its 'lying'...lol....
but if you insist on hanging around...
go to a guest house somewhere
hang at the airport --the terminal--
but dude, giv it a think.
2 AM: plane arrives at bangkok baby!
2:30 AM: u finally get in line for baggage
3 AM: you get ur baggage
3:30 AM: in line..hang around..
4 AM: you probably get all your visa and money done
5 AM: get to relative's house.
should be okay, if you really think about it.
