ouch. 1 semester away. finish up. get your degree. once you have that piece of paper a lot of different doors will open up for you. if you bail now you'll always regret it.

We've all felt that way at one time or another. Tell you what you do: go ahead and complete that degree and then find a job using that education. Spend the next two years working and saving and thinking carefully about what direction you'd really like to go. After those two years, you should have a pretty good idea, and your savings will help you should you decide to transition into a different career.
It may well turn out that you're good at accounting and finance-related jobs and that all you really need is a good hobby. Most of us actually do undertake that compromise: we work at a job we don't worship so we can afford to be what we really wanna be on the weekends.
I did it slightly differently: after three years of college, I enlisted in the Army. There were other options but at the time, that one appealed to me.

Coming from someone that is 35 and never graduated from college I would say that the one mistake with my life is never graduating from college. Even though you feel this way trust me you are soo far ahead of the game now(one semester from graduation) that where you go from here after you graduate is totally up to you. Once you have a degree you can go into any field you want. All prospective employers want to see is that you have a degree first of all. And you can always go into a masters program in any field you wish as well!! God Bless you for you education!!!!!! You will be great dont worry!!!!!

Oh, yeah, I have this problem right now. And like you I have a Master's degree in Accounting and that hard earned CPA. But after taking several years off to be a Mom, I'm ready to re-embark on my career journey. But I really do not want to have my own firm again and I sure don't want a corporate actg job.
If you are in a metropolitan area or are willing to relocate to one, and CSI/forensics is your kind of thing, check out the market for Forensic Accountants. [Alas, I am stuck in Po-Dunk, USA.]
If you would rather be an attorney, keep going with your education [and get your CPA]. As many of my attorney friends have told me, with a CPA and JD, you can write your own paycheck.
Best of luck.

This is completely normal. I am going through the exact same thing. I recently finished my masters degree and am looking at going into a completely different field for my PhD.D. My advise: finish your degree, so you can at the least get a job, and if you still aren't fulfilled go back to school. Also if you are getting a BA/BS the good news is you can go into almost any masters program even if it's an unrelated field. Good Luck

Sometimes life's decisions are a process of elimination; figuring out what doesn't work before you find out what does. I'm well past 40 and still deciding what I want to be when I grow up! But I've learned a lot and enjoyed many blessing sin the process

You finish up and keep going.. There are so many people in the world that have went to school and decided they wanted to be something different its not even funny... Just finish up, get a job, if you aren't content then go back to school... :-)... and become a christian without christ you will never be fully happy and u will always feel like something is missing...

I think anyone who is a thinking, breathing human being has realized they made a mistake with their life's path!
What did I do? I switched majors and it took me an extra year of college. It's not the end of the world to change your mind, and you will probably thank yourself later. My advice is to meet with an academic advisor to discuss what you want to do.

I had one of those moments 3 years ago. Had to change everything. Its tough, ask yourself if you are up to it.
I mean, what is so wrong about being what you are trained to do? Do it a few years then train to do something else - its better than being a poor college student for a decade
