I want to get my boyfriend a promise ring for our anniversay, but i don't know what ring size he is and i don't want to give it away by asking how should i go about getting a proper fit. Is there anything i can do with his height and weight to find an estimate online

The best way I can think to do this is either borrow a ring that he already has, or find a friend or your dad or his dad or someone with about the same sized fingers as his. Either that, or just casually be playing with his fingers and mention that his hands are bigger than yours and ask if he knows his ring size. Act like it is just a piece of trivia that you want to know. Or figure out a way to tie a string around his finger to get an idea of the size.

I dont know but you could buy it and then have it sized..some places it only takes a couple hours some places have to send it out,...this way you know for sure it fits...My hubbys ring has a warennty so whenever he wants to change the size he can do it for free or he can have all the scratches buffed out or whatever...We have been married only a 11/2 and he has had it sized once already....*Some places like Kay Jewlers charge less for a mens size 8 than for a 8.5 or larger..then you get the warenty and he can get it sized up past an 8...tricky tricky! Good luck

It might not be a good idea to just up and give him a ring, whether it turns out to be the right size or not. He may feel you're pressuring him in a direction he's not ready for, and may resent it. Promise rings should be mutually agreed upon before being purchased. There's a style that should be perfect, if he agrees to accept and wear one; it's the claddach ring, an Irish tradition. They're beautiful and mysterious, and a lot of fun to shop for.

I don't think there's another way,if you have a ring to get him to try it on,and explain to the jewelry people how it fits your ring and they can look at your hand and maybe determine, other than that I woud suggest, that you get someone else to ask him, maybe his mother or a woman in his family.
