Sure but it isn't healty to continue that for any lenght of time, 2 pounds a week and learning to balance your total lifestyle to both
maintain the lost weight and preserve your health and energy is
your best plan.

Yes, you can even lose 4 pounds in 1 day with that few calories, but it's not too good for you! The body will rebel and you might end up bingeing later. Best to cut back on the sweets and starches, but eat enough meat, vegetables and fruits. Your body does need nutrients while losing weight.
Usually when you lose a lot of weight suddenly it's mostly water weight anyway.
I admit I've done it for a quick fix. As long as it's not a regular pattern it should be OK.

You can lose more weight without counting calories and eat and unlimited amount of great tasting food on a near vegan diet. You can also eat this way for the rest of your life and live long and healthy. Doesn't that make better sense than dieting before bikini season every year and causing your health to suffer?
I eat a near vegan diet and I am healthier in my mid thirties than I ever was in my life. I have more energy even with kids, I have a positive outlook, I don't have junk food cravings anymore, and I know how to eat really well without using animal products and I enjoy eating this way. I have yet to feel deprived.
Read some good books on proper nutrition like "Eat to Live" by Dr. Joel Furhman or "Food for Life" by Dr. Neal Barnard. Read also "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell, PhD (Cornell University Professor) These books can be life changing.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.
1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.
2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.
These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

You hit a plateau. Your best bet will be to increase the intensity of your workouts: increasing weights, adding an incline or speed on the treadmill; a level or two on the bike...you get the picture.
If you reduce your eating to 1000 calories, you will gain the weight back when you go back to normal eating.
You've done extremely well to have a setback like that.

You can lose even more than that, but not all of the weight you lose will be fat. You actually need enough calories to burn fat. Eat about 1200-1500 a day and workout for at least an hour everyday. Also cut all the bread out of your diet for the week. You could lose up to 10 pounds, 5 of them being from the lack of bread alone.

It really depends on what you're eating.
Weight isn't only based on calories. Fats are also to be considered.
If you drink like 10 cans of soda for 100 calories, you wouldn't lose weight. If you ate veggies and such, then you'd probably lose 1 or 2 pounds

I went on the slim fast diet and consumed 1000 a day and lost about a pound a day, but that was a big cut-down for me. I was eating a TON before.

Yes, if you are retaining water. 1000 calorie diet is pretty low and can lead to fainting, which is not cool. Be careful and consult a Dr. before going that low
