his sock drawer instead?

I mean, what about people here NOW who need food, protection, and economic opportunity? Why are radical environmentalists refusing to allow third world countries to industrialize so that they can feed themselves and create jobs for their people?

Is it easier to be an activist for something that is intangible and will not be judged a success or a failure within your lifetime than it is to be an activist for something REAL and immediately MEASURABLE?

Another more pressing and immediate threat to us here in the U.S. is Islamic terrorism that could kill us TODAY.

To be fair and to address all your Questions and Comments.

1 Islamic Terrorists seek to kill every one who is not Islamic. so lets not worry about them. (what do they have to do with the price of tea in China any way)

2 Speaking of Tea in China, it is not that "enviro-wackos" (of which I am one) want to keep third world countries for endustrializing we just want them to do it in a green way. It isn't always about the industry as much as it is about sustainability and the community. Enviro-wackos as you call us want to ensure that what we the consumers are getting is the best possible product, produced in a environmentaly friendly way using local people and resources in a way that will sustain the environment and economy for years to come... we believe in a fair wage for fair labor, as well as no harmfull chemicals (which are just as bad for you as they are for the environment) and package lite products. In short nothing is intangible to those who endevour to reach out to take it.

Who is stopping developing countries from developing?
Enviro wackos?
Been listening to Limbaugh?

Why would you want your grandchildren or great grand children to grew up in stinking cesspool?
How old are you?
You should have been around in the 50's and 60's.
People would dump their garbage ANYWHERE they pleased.
Factories had pipes running straight into the rivers.
The rivers were trashed.
Shopping carts.
Old tires.
50 gallon drums containing who knows what dumped into the rivers and lakes.
Garbage Garbage and more garbage.
But some people consider that a sign of progress.

We are giving them the opportunity to be better than us. TO be in the industrial rev w/o the problems we face. In years ahead they can beet us up. If people are productive they are not terrorists. If they have hope. China is able to have wireless telephones-we are stuck with wires. Solar turbine generators are a long term solution to global warming and are good for raising the standard of living.

It looks better in the eyes of the rest of the world if these people appear to be helping the planet and not just America. But I agree, you need to take care of what's happening at home first.

Fanatics of any kind are dangerous, and in my opinion do not accomplish the things they set out to do. The environment is is desperate need of repair, and we can't wait to do it tomorrow. However, I agree that there is much to fix at home.

it's not that they don't want 3rd world countries to industrialize, they just want them to do it responsibly, giving thought to how the industries they set up will impact the environment years from now. you have to understand that the state of our world NOW, and the things we're doing NOW, impact the FUTURE. so it's imperative to always be thinking about the future, if we want the human race to even be alive years from today!

It is so much easier to criticize, carp, and moan than to do. Have you noticed, too, how it is always someone else is always responsible to provide working solutions and clean up the environment?
