The reason I ask this is because I have stopped drinking sodas and trying to only drink water and some juice but today I compared a Hawaiian Punch label to an orange soda label and the juice had more calories and more fat than the soda.

100% fruit juices are healthy for you. Beware of fruit drinks, sport drinks, punches, and ades, though; these don't contain fruit juices and are loaded with sugar and calories. 100% fruit juices include V8, orange juice, apricot nectar juice, cranberry juice, (white) grape juice, and apple juice. However, you should limit the amount you drink because although they are healthy (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants), they are high-calorie. Eating a piece of fruit would be better, since it still has the skin with extra vitamins and minerals, and it's lower-calorie than juice alternatives.

Try picking other drinks. Herbal tea (fresh-brewed from tea bags) are tasty and naturally calorie-free. They come in different flavors - you can get a tea sampler to discover which you like the best. (I like green tea and peach-apricot.) Water is also an excellent choice, and they sell flavored waters if you find regular too boring.

100% fruit juice is best. Soda contains empty calories, whereas you'll at least be getting a small amount of vitamins from drinking juice. Keep up with drinking water. It's not always easy. I too have just stopped drinking pop, and have let up on drinking juice too because of all the sugar.

If you are asking which is healthier, it all depends. If you want to cut down on calories, drink only water, but between juice and soda, I would have to say juice if it is 100% juice. If it is junk like Hawaiin Punch ( what like 5% juice) you may as well drink soda

Hawaiian Punch is not juice, it's "juice flavored" junk.

Actual juice (like orange juice) is also often higher in calories than soda.

Soda provides no nutrients whatsoever, and the juice will provide vitamin C.

Diet wise- it's better to eat whole fruit instead of drinking juice (juice isn't filling, but fruit is.)

Yeah, you have to be careful with what juices you drink but soda is the worst for you. If I drink green tea or apple juice I water it down. 1/4 juice and 3/4 water. It is so much more refreshing then straight sweet sugar drinks even if it is natural.

While fruit juice does contain significantly more nutrients than either the soda or sports drinks, it also contains more calories and sugar than the other two beverage choices when comparing equal amounts. Yes, fruit does contain natural sugar in the form of fructose, but it can contribute a great deal of calories to the diet when drunk in larger portion sizes. We would agree that fruit juice is a better choice, but in a smaller portion size. No more than 6 ounces of fruit juice a day would be a good rule of thumb. Your other servings of fruit should come from whole and canned fruits, both of which are higher in fiber than juice.

The juice thing is getting a lot of people in trouble. The absents of the pulp fiber and other natural parts of the fruit make the digestion of the juice difficult and even dangerous to insulin resistant people.Whole raw fruit and vegetables are the best natural source of pure healing power on this planet when consumed raw, whole, and not tampered with. When you remove the juice from especially fruits and to some degree
veg's you concentrate all the sugars in the juice without the
fiber needed to slow the blood sugar rise. The real secret to health is eat the natural foods in their natural state and drink
pure clean water and tea.

It all depends... btw, hawiian punch, really isn't juice... its a juice-like drink. If you are going by calories / fat content, then diet soda's are the least in both. If you are looking for health content (vitamins and such) then look for real juice... 100% apple, grape, etc. They might have calories, but as long as you don't over do it, the juice will be healthier for you.

Hawaiian punch is not actually a real juice. Read the label again and it will say some natural and artificial flavors......AND a lot of sugar.

Honestly, stick to good old water. Many juices are just as bad as soda. They contain alot of sugar and calories. However, the reason they are thought of as being healthier is because many contain some vitamins and no caffeine as opposed to soda.
