He has been among my favorite fighters for years but he has never made it to the elite status always losing the BIG fights --Mayweather, Baldimor, Manfreddy...ect. He is the most exciting to watch but careerwise who does he have the best chance against if he wants to go out a champion?

I thought he should retire also, i don't know though he might have a few good ones left but i think he's past his prime and should retire while his health is good. Hes good and has shown me alot of heart, but always comes up short in the big fights except Gatti-Ward 2&3. I don't see him going out champion. He'll probably fight a few no namers before retiring. Maybe he should go for Emanuel Augustus that'd be a good fight for both fighters careers. Emanuel would get a big money fight and Arturo Gatti would probably get a controversial decision over Augustus. Thus, putting both fighters in the spotlight and Gatti would still get the W. Its not like Augustus is worried about his record anymore anyway. Emanuel might have the stuff to beat Gatti even though both fighters are past their prime and Emanuel Augustus looked terrible against Kid Diamond in his last fight. Both of them coming off of losses and bad performances, maybe it would be a chance for at least one of them to shine once again.

I like Gatti too, which is why I think he should retire now before he gets himself killed. Everyone respects his heart, and boxing fans will remember him for decades to come, even though he was never at the very top. If he takes any more beatings he's going to end up like Jerry Quarry. Nobody wants that.

Gatti is my favorite fighter also. I would like to see him fight Ricky Hatton, that would be some brawl. I dont think gatti is done. I think Baldimor was just to heavy a fighter for gatti.
