There are some people who claim to be prophets -- to hear the voice of god. Those I have known personally have some significant mental health issues. There are some people in the public eye who have made claims to being the voice of god in the world -- how many of them have been discredited?
Why is it that there are people making these claims who have such different ideas about what is right? Why would god tell different people such opposite things if it is the one god?
I think many people are sincere in their belief that god speaks to them... but I think that most of them are the victims of wishful thinking.

If you're christian, I'm pretty sure jesus said that there would be no more prophets until his return...
but if you aren't christian then yeah maybe there are...but if any of them were the real deal don't you think everyone in the world would hear about it since it would be pretty amazing?

There are no modern day prophets. The last one was Jesus.

No, Jesus that there would NOT be any more need for prophets because he came (the messiah) the old prophets were to tell of his coming and being he came not need for any more.
