I think in the Ramayana Rama dumps Sita.

Since I know if I ask for a short summary of the Ramayana you'll just give me links to websites, could you at least tell me why Rama dumped Sita?

No he did not.........As the time progressed people have become ignorant to understand the reality..

When Ravana,King of demons abducted Sita, Rama being the noble and heroic man killed Ravana at his home front and brought Sita back which took about less than an year, during which time Sita was a prisoner in Ravan's garden..

Rama is emperor and it was his duty to prove to his people that their empress (who is like the mother of king don or first lady) is as pure as anything he asked Sita to prove her modesty which she successfully proved..
Today's ignorant feminists of India who don't know how to take care of their own butt..think they can judge Rama by portraying him as egoistic..but they dint understand that for an emperor like Rama he could have had as many women as he want, instead he chose to be with one woman for entire life..

Mythological tales such as Ramayana often hint towards higher truths in life or maoral values.

The "dumping" of Sita by Rama in my opinion points toward the suspecting nature of men. No matter how devoted a wife be, a man will always have a tinge of suspecting nature in him. An insecurity will always exist within him that his wife will leave him for someone else. This hidden emotion will reveal itself when the man finds a reason to believe his wife may have been with another man.

There may be other interpretations but this is my view of it.
