Flavored vodka is a neat way to get them talking. Most people do not know how or that you can. I bar-tended in dance clubs for15 years and out of the many options,(which I am proud to say I tried them all) my favorites is simple but everyone will love. I recommend GREY GOOSE or ABSOLUT.. You then get a pack of JOLLY RANCHERS (watermelon & apple are the best) Put 3 or 4 in the bottle and put it in the freezer. You need about 24 hours Its great straight up or shooters or a mixed drrink. Chill the glasses you intend to use also in the freezer and a slice of watermelon placed on the rim.(like lemons in tea) enjoy

About a year ago, I was in the same boat. Having not really tried alcohol for years, I was out of it. I wanted to get my sister-in-law a good bottle of vodka from the US since she is a connoisseur and missed the good vodkas from her home (Lithuania). I went to a bar and tried a bunch… believe me, there are a TON of them out there now. At any rate, the one that I REALLY enjoyed by far and away was from a small distillery in California called Hangar One. I tried the straight (unflavoured) version and was blown away. I bought it, gave it and drank it with her. Turned out that I liked it well enough that I bought a bottle for myself and loved it still. I have also since bought all of their flavoured vodkas and enjoyed ALL of them. I also have bought a handful of others at the recommendation of some people that I’ve spoken to and have not been impressed with them. So… in the end… the Hangar One story is kind of quaint. The product is awesome and their flavors are really bold and strong without masking the vodka flavour. I’d strongly recommend that you get it and I think everyone will be pleased with your selection.

I have had almost every well known vodka and, many will disagree, but I have never been disappointed with UV. It's smooth, I don't gag after a shot... Even Grey Goose has made me gag (flavored ones too!)... UV is super cheap, and supposedly won awards for it's flavor, but whatever. You asked, there is my honest answer.

Belvedere by far. Very Smooth. When I have 32 bucks to blow a 1/5 of Belvadere and a Rib eye steak will make me feel like I'm Invisitable. Otherwise a 12 buck half gallon of Aristorcrat with OJ will have to do.

Hmmm, Gray Goose, Try and get some 42Below, made down under in New Zealand. Comes in a range of flavours and is not half bad.
