In infant-baptizing churches, baptism is viewed the same way as circumcision was in the old testament. The baptism preparation in the new church can probably continue if your friend can just have her pastor prepare a letter certifying that preparation -- unless it's a far different denomination of course, in which case she will need new instruction.
Infant baptism does require that the parents/guardians are also under the covenant of baptism. One doesn't just sneak the neighbor's kid in. There is a commitment that goes with it.
No, you don't have to serve many years to get baptized, the church leaders simply have to know that you have indeed received new life in Jesus Christ and wish to be ingrafted into Him.

Baptism does not have to be in the church for starters, secondly, if they were to deny you baptism, they are going against God.
Having said that, some Churches do hold classes so that you fully understand what you are doing, so that you know the meaning.
Only God knows your true heart, man can not know this for sure, so a Church can not or should not deny baptism because you need to show spirituality, they would be judging, and that is not for them to do, it is reserved for God only.
When a baby gets baptized it really means nothing. Baptism is about a persons PERSONAL CHOICE to accept Jesus as savior. With that choice, they receive the Holy Spirit from God. The water Baptism is a public proclamation that you are accepting Jesus and CONFESSING or REPENTING with your MOUTH and HEART. A baby is not capable to make this decision, so it really means nothing. As a New Christian, if you have accepted Jesus, you should and can get baptized NOW!
Please, email me if you have any questions. God Bless you new brother, may you learn and be filled with the truth from God Almighty!

On a true religion, you must be indoctrinated on the teachings of God according to the Bible. Take for instance the Church of God, International. You will not be baptized unless you attain the indoctrination for 15 days solely based on the bible in order to be a true Christian. New born babies should not be baptized, because new born babies has not sinned against God. Any religion that baptize a child is not a true religion and not a pure Christian.

I'm not sure about the rules of the church your friend is planning on going to.I have never heard of a church requiring 'proof of her spirituality' apart from an assurance that she is indeed a Christian.
Most Christian denominations do not baptize babies. It is a practice I disagree with.
No,you do not have to serve many years to get baptized. If you are in a church that says that,I would leave. There is no biblical basis for such a claim. In fact, the early Christians were baptized very quickly after their conversion.

Really all it takes is a willingness to be obedient in baptism. Some Christian denominations have some simple requirements, and some ministers are more comfortable if you have a true faith and general understanding of the significance of baptism. I hope you find a church that will give you the instruction, fellowship and reassurance you seek. Try the Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church. They are Bible based, liberal and very loving as a rule.

Anyone can be baptized anytime after they accept Jesus as their Savior. There is no waiting list, or other achievements to do.
When babies are baptized, it does not save the baby, babies are already saved until they reach the age to either accept Jesus or rebel against Jesus. Babies are baptized in some churches as a commitment by the parents to bring them up in a godly manner.
Other churches will not baptize infants but do have a dedication ceremony where the parents make a pledge to bring their child up in a godly manner.

It really depends on the church. You didn't specify any churches, so I can't tell you. Catholics and a few others will baptize babies, while others require the person to be a certain age and to have completed classes/lectures to be baptized. The best thing to do is ask the leaders of the church these questions.

For the record, you do not need a church to baptise you. What you need is another believer to do the baptising. There is no prerequisite to be baptised, except that the one to be baptised is genuine in his confession of faith in Jesus Christ and is repentant. This is how the early church did it according to the NT.

No, wait.
You DO NOT have to prove your spirituality--you just let the preacher know that you love God, and that you accept Jesus into your heart.
Then the baptism. It just shows the public that you decided to change from your OLD WAYS and going under water, and then rising back up, is showing your 'new creature' in Christ.
Babies only get BLESSED. NOT baptized..They make up their own minds when they get older.

A friend said he and his twin were baptised at the same time ... but his brother only did it for social acceptance.
He said after the baptism, there was one saved soul and one wet sinner
OK, so he was a bit fanatical, but it reminded me of why they would want to be sure ...
