Can animals catch a cold, or get sick from humans?

Animals can catch colds, but not from humans - the cold virus is species-specific (so is the flu).

There are very few diseases that can go from one species to another - e.g. toxoplasmosis; most illnesses can only be passed back and forth between members of the same species.

yes animals can catch a cold=dont think they will get sick from a human though
