I cosigned on my boyfriends credit card. We were together for 3 1/2 years so I had faith that he would pay it himself. Well, we broke up recently and now I have to pay his full balance on the credit card. I learned my lesson at least!

I've done the same thing and regretted it as well. I would advise against anyone co-signing.

Thank GOD my friend did this.
the boyfriend used her damn credit card to take his new girlfriend out to a hotel (this is how she found out).
Talk about insult to injury!
I wouldnt cosign for ANYONE with bad credit. I would cosign for a younger relative with NO credit. THey have bad credit for a reason....if they wont pay a car or a mortgage, why in the hell do you think that they will pay you back?
If a person had NO credit, maybe they just need some help to get on their feet. Either way it is a bad idea but I am glad that you did learn something from it.
Welcome to the school of hard knocks.
Depending upon the payments, you might have earned your master's degree
