ahhhh!! i ate so much today. i had some cheese curls, an egg, cheese, and bacon bagel sandwich, a protein bar, a sleeve of do-si-do girl scout cookies, some sun chips, a bowl of chicken and dumpling dinner, 2 rolls with butter, cheddar chex mix, some peanuts and cereal out of the box. i've been pretty good the past few days, but today i just binged. i don't really know if i have a question or not. i'm just basically wondering why i do this and how to stop this and get in control. it seems like i am always either wanting food or hating myself for eating like a pig. i need to stop this!!!

I am thin, but I really fear getting fat. I usually try to eat healthy, but sometimes I feel like I just lose control.

You need to talk to a dr about this. most people that do this have an underlying problem that is causing it.

I totally know what you are talking about. I am a recovering binge eater. I was diagnosed by one of the doctors I work with. Binge eating is preety a combination of anorexia and bulimia. The only thing that is different is that you don't make yourself throw up when you are done eating a lot. Instead, you feel depressed, desperate, and just thinking, WHY DID I DO THIS? I always go the whole day without eating a single slice of anything, and only drinking water. At work everyone was like, wow you eat so healthy. We tend to have a lot of goodies lying around in the lunch room and I just don't bother touching any of them because I don't want others to think of me as fat. When I would get out of work, I would be so stressed that at night, when no one was watching, I would stuff myself with whatever was in the fridge. While I did this, I would find it humorous because it's so ironic that I'm eating almost twice the required daily intake by the end of the night. After that, I would get so depressed and HATE myself for doing that. This would occur on an almost daily basis. It's really bad if you binge eat because when you do it, you tend to do it at the end of the night. When you eat past 6 in the afternoon, your metabolism slows down. When you feed tons of food to your stomach and then you watch tv or sleep, you are making your stomach work overtime. Therefore, you are not able to digest properly and the food isn't broken down as well as it should be (thus turning into fat). Just make sure that you eat a healthy breakfast in the morning and eat constantly throughout the day. It is best if you try to avoid the kitchen at night so that the binge eating doesnt continue. Usually if you eat well throughout the day, your stomach won't ask you for more than it should get. If you get really hungry though, much on a small snack, or if you binge eat, do it on veggies and fruits. Those (at least fruits) will fill you up faster, because they contain a lot of water. Um, unfortunately, this is preety much what your doctor will tell you. I went to my family doctor and he told me the exact same thing. Ironic how doctors take your money by telling you common sense stuff...and by recommending tylenol when you're in pain. Well hope this helps!

If you have health insurance or enough money to pay for it yourself, the best thing to do is get a health check up with a doctor. Get a referral to a nutritionist who can help you make a good plan for eating healthy foods.
Also, if you are healthy, start some kind of fun activity that you can do. Swimming? Tennis? Ping-Pong? Horse riding? Bicycle riding? Walking/Hiking? Pick something that you enjoy and can do 2-3 times a week. Just don't do too much when you start. Start slowly and gradually do more.
Also make sure you have something which you enjoy doing at home. Pleasure, enjoyment and comfort can come from writing/reading books and poetry, drawing, painting, other crafts, taking care of a pet, there are a lot of choices! Look for pleasure and enjoyment from things which are not food. Just eat for nutrition, not comfort or pleasure.
This is a big subject!
Best wishes!

We've all done it. Starved, fad diets, you name it. It's time to make peace with food. I'm using "You On a Diet". No more yo-yo dieting, binging. It is written in layman's terms but is entertaining. Here are just some tips in the mean time. Eat 6 smaller meals or 3 meals with snacks. Get rid of the junk food. Love your body now. Make meal time special with candles, napkins and nice plates. Splurge on something like dessert or candy every two weeks. Why deprive yourself? Measure your waist. A woman's waist optimally should be around 32 inches for good health. Measure at the level of your belly button. All the blood diverted to a big gut leaves vital organs depleted and leads to major disease processes. Take walks when you feel stressed, anxious, lonely, upset, or bored. good luck and you will succeed.

Did you know there is actually a support group called Overeaters Anonymous? I don't know what all they do at their meetings but you wouldn't feel as bad about your behavior if you knew others that did the same thing. One way to stop though is to not buy that stuff. Don't keep it around the house at all! I buy those 100 calorie snack packs of salty snacks like Cheetos and sweet snacks like cookies and I will eat those. Also, I make myself a big thermos of hot tea, sweetened with Splenda, and I drink that all day. Filling up on liquids (especially no-calorie ones that still taste sweet) can help slow down your apetite. I know where you're coming from. Been there. Done that.

pot heads do it for all time... i might think of binge eating is something left over from primal circumstances. whilst a hunter carry collectively might in basic terms get a kill as quickly as each and every week or so. so as that they binged/saved potential, because of fact whilst they might get the subsequent kill grow to be unknown. So human beings get under pressure out annoying approximately their destiny and binge. to purge in a while may well be a widespread theory to stay in a definite sort of shape wide-unfold by friends/self. (If we did no longer comprehend food made us fat, there might no reason to purge) on account that food is often accessible to those with money, it extremely is loopy for them to binge. yet then existence is annoying for each man or woman. now and back our primal instinct takes over, then our social visual attraction ego makes use of the mind to return up with a answer that may no longer all that great interior the long-term

its ok, take a deep breath you treated yourself, i eat alot too but mosly healthy. I keep my shape by running. As long as you exercise the next day you should be fine. You only have one life and I can tell you are enjoying it and living it right, but this can lead to diabeties or something so have a little bit of the yum yums mixed with healthy food for example have a couple of cookies like 2 or 3 then eat an apple so your body dosent ask for more of them . good luck and god bless truly!
