Honestly, what does that mean? That's a really mysterious use of a preposition, wouldn't you agree?

So, again, what does "above logic" mean?

What does it mean that God is "higher" than logic?

I still don't get it...

Ok, what I'm getting here is..... if I say that the concept of "god" is logically impossible, a believer may say "Yes, that's true, but God exists anyway because logic doesn't apply to God"?

Its a conversation-ending excuse that they use when you've made a point that the idea or actions of god just don't make sense. Its the perfect copout. How you can argue that something doesn't make sense when its supporters happily agree that it doesn't have to make sense?

It means the person talking cannot figure out the logical relationship between God, or God's Word, and certain events or arguments. So instead of admitting he can't figure it out, he says "God is above logic". Of course He is above logic, he created logic. But He follows His own rules. We are imperfect at figuring out how they apply, but that does not mean God does not act according to logic.

It just means that He is above or greater than all of man's knowledge and wisdom. If we could determine the reasons behind what God does then he woulld''nt be much of a God. There are some thing we should take on faith rather than trying to find the logic in it.

The only thing that could logically be "above logic" is Magick. Therefore the folks that state their "God is above logic" are finally admitting--rather obliquely--that there is no evil in Magick and nothing could exist without Magick's reality.

God made emotion and logic so he is the one who knows true logic and emotion he has the greatest of each and we only have a portion of it.... meaning what God does is above the logic he has given us ( Like how you were a kid when your parent did a magic trick you thought it was amazing cus you didnt fully understand everything cus you were a child)..

That's just because they know they can't argue that there's absolutely nothing logical about God, or any of the beliefs in God. They make no sense.

I would assume that the "people", were simply pointing out that God is not limited by the dictates of man's logic.

God is spirit and as such has provided a conduit of communication with man through regeneration of the spirit.

I missed the dialogue that evidently sparked the question.

There is no human wisdom or counsel that can prevail against the Lord. We cannot fathom how deep or logical His thoughts are because we think in a temporal mind and He thinks in an Infinite Mind.

It's a note of the nature of faith in the illogical.Just as one might say above the law above logic is not good.

It means the belief in god is illogical. They just don't want to say it. They will avoid all use of reason to preserve their god brainwashing.

Martin Luther said it best:
"Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has: it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but--more frequently than not --struggles against the Divine Word...."
