The Cro-Magnon man was more intelligent and far superior physically.
Science believes this.
If he had the history to learn from like we do, no telling how far he would have advanced if he survived.

If the only way you have to measure intelligence requires being born in the recent past, I would say yes. If you could come up with a test that put the two on an equal footing they would come out about the same on average. This begs the question of when. For me about 200,000BC when the keys to language ability came along, is the last time modern man would have won for sure.
Unless you want to get into a philosophical discussion of what intelligence 'really' is.

The innate potential for intelligence is probably about the same. But in 10,000 years we've had two huge advances: better nutrition & medicine, and a vast accumulation of knowledge. The people of 10,000 years ago had short lives and had to devote most of their energy to survival. Anything they learned could only be passed on through oral traditions. Today many people earn a living that allows them to spend almost no time with basic survival needs, and therefore are able to spend much of their life working on advancing knowledge. With the recent addition of the internet and online libraries, researchers have access to a great deal of the world's information. Even the average man on the street has far more free time, a far better education, and far more access to information than the people of 10,000 years ago. This makes it possible for him to do much more with his intelligence. Whether most people choose to do so or not is another question.

Well, from my opinion. The answer really depends on what sort of intelligent you are asking about.

We sure do understand and know more about ...basically everything in and out of the Earth than we do 10,000 years ago.

But somehow we still kind of live in a similar way than we were by then. I don't mean that we still go and hunt food with a club or something, but we still have that desire of more and stuff. (which by the way i don't really know what im tlking about anymore xD)

And if you are talking about IQ, we may have the same IQ as before, but its just that we now know more about things so it makes us look more intelligent.

*It's just all my opinion, didn't look up any source. couldn't be bothered. =P*

No, for all intents and purposes, we are domesticated. Domesticated animals have half the brains of their wild counterparts. I do not believe in such a thing as a "wild man" but I do believe that we are lazy when it comes to thinking, and that we get used to being lazy.

Surely the thinkers are being bred out of us. I will prove it. Who is more attractive your general scientist and librarian or your general movie and pop star (in other words, genius versus idiot)? Now mulitply that all the way back, and if you can think that far, surely you can see how stupid we really are in comparison.

I thoroughly believe that it is the exceptions to the rule that has carried us this far. Otherwise we would all be brainless blobs of jelly.

Whether or not mankind goes back 10000 years is another question.

Man is as intelligent now as 10,000 years ago in the sense that the capacity to learn is the same. But today man is more knowledgeable meaning he has the opportunity to learn more real facts and therefore knows more..

Biblically speaking man is around 7000 years old. I believe man's intelligence has decreased because of sin from what it was originally

We know far more and because of that we can reason far better. At least some of us can, but I suspect we have only marginally more potential for intelligence.

i dont think we are anymore intelligent..everything we have now took a long time for us to create it...my point is....those people like in B.C. n stuff...those people could have created it too...it would take them about thousands of years to get where we are...and thats how long it took us...thousands of years....so what make us smarter?
