I'm struggling here (as I'm sure some of you could tell).

Give me three solid reasons to believe in God, Heaven and Hell. Something that proves it to me. No quotes from the Bible I've already read it, and no telling me that I'll go to hell if I don't believe.

WHY should I believe? Who's going to show me first hand that God exists. I have to SEE it with my own two eyes. I just can't grasp it otherwise. I need something REAL.

I went to Sunday School growing up and was an active member in my church. So please no preaching, just three solid things that will prove that God exists.

No crtiticism please, I'm looking for some truth.

The only one that can answer that question is - YOU.

What convinced me - may very well not convince you.

What would convince you - very well wouldn't be what would have convinced me.

God is a personal God. He even knows the hairs on your head (as scripture states). Ask Him for a personal experience - something to make Him real to you.

This is an honest question that everyone has. I too was a strong skeptic when I was younger.
First: Look at this world. Look at all the varieties of life and how perfectly it is setup. Tree and plant life on land and water produce food and air for land and sea animals to breath and eat. Land animals produce food and carbon dioxide for plants to eat. I find it vary hard to believe that it was an accident. Random chance does not explain it properly. Mathematically it is more likely that there is a divine creator than the odds that all this was random luck.
Second: Given that there is a divine creator that has created creatures with such knowledge as human it would be a waste to not have a plan for us after we die. What would be the point if there wasn't?
Third: Hell. That is tougher than the other two. I believe that Hell is the absence of God. If we do not know God life seems aimless and without a point.

I am sorry you are feeling the way you are. It is very hard for anyone to have a crisis of faith. There are two things I can say to you. If you seek God, God will find you. I would suggest praying to God and asking God to help you find the right path and to know the truth.
Good luck. I will pray for you :)

I really wish I could show you the proof you're looking for, but I don't think anyone on this earth can. The reason I believe there is a God is not because of blind faith. The only way I can describe it is like a deep instinct. I just know, and I've always known there is a God. Without a "religious background" I have a deep inner knowing that God exists. Some people thlnk that when they die, that's it. Nothing. I can't even think that way, I have a deep knowing that there is "the other side" that we go to when our physical bodies die. This is not something that is learned in a church. I've known many people who are quite religious, yet are not spiritual in any sense. I hope you can find that "proof" and spirituality that you're looking for.

When a miracle of any sort occurs, what would you attest as to the reason for such miracle? And I would answer, there's proof of God! Look also, upon all the varieties of creation, like all the vast array of flowers, trees, animals. And then gaze up to the skies, the stars, the fact that the sun rises and sets every day - and I'd also say, proof of God! And Heaven, well, there are numerous individuals who've had near-death experiences and nearly all report of the same phenomena - the bright white light, unfathomable peace, total absence of fear, and the overwhelming feeling of the presence of God! And again I'd say, proof of God! As for Hell, it doesn't exist! God is a forgiving God. No being would be sentenced to an eternal damnation. All souls will ever have the eventual salvation and redemption of their souls, no matter the nature of their sins. Hell only results from poor choices made while on this Earth, and life and existence is a learning process. We are not all born with supreme knowledge, but through numerous lives and rebirths, all souls finally ascend and attain to greater spirituality than that of which we were born with. Have you ever heard of transcendant meditation? Well, this is a daily process through which one can experience direct contact with the divine Source through this amazing practice. It is called the "witness state". And once, achieved, will never be forgotten, by the meditator. A true ancient Chinese secret! If you want more proof of the existence of God, read a book called, "Heaven On Earth - On Achieving Human Unity and Enlightenment" by Stephen D'Amico, and published by Ameek Press, web site ameekpress.com. Don't kid yourself! The world is truly mysterious and of definite cosmic origin! And what about clairvoyants, like Edgar Cayce, who could accurately diagnose illness, miles away from the individual, time and time again. Read up on him! A Divine Source gave him his knowledge! Psychics, like Sylvia Browne, who's on the Montel Williams show every Wednesday, will help you see firsthand, evidence of the existence of God. A person might ask her something about a dear departed one, and Sylvia will hit on an aspect or characteristic of that person, whom she's never known! Time and time again! These are not stabs in the dark! Well, I hope this helps you! And please, don't ever lose your sense of wonder! May God bless!

The fact that your are searching for Truth is the first reason to believe in God as your creator. Why are you seeking truth and not satisfied with the reality you currently believe? Why are you looking for more? I believe it is because God has created in you the desire to know Him. So the fact that you want more than you can see with your own two eyes, the fact you can even think that abstractly, proves there is a creator who has planted this desire in you.
Second, to address why you specifically should believe is more difficult for me because all I know about you are eleven lines written on a website. I could write endless pages about why I believe in God, pulled directly from my life experience. I do not think that is what you are looking for here though. You are wanting concrete, finite, black and white evidence. Here is the one "fact" that I know....Biblical Christianity has outlived (and is bigger than) every other religion and philosophy over the centuries.
There are people much more educated and eloquent than I who have addressed this question and answered it. Here are some websites:

I sincerely wish I had all the right answers for you. I appreciate your question and will try to give a sincere response.

Creation, nature, these would be the first evidence I would offer as proof of a creator God. The second would be your ability to reason, to ask questions and having a conscience. Why do we seem t be the only inhabitants o earth with these abilities?

Third i would suggest the supernatural. Things that have happened in your life that are unexplainable. For example people and circumstances you can't explain. Coincidence? maybe, Devinne intervention, perhaps.

May God bless you and guide you in your search for truth.

ARE you a realist? Most of us would like to think we are. A realist tries to be guided by provable facts. He wishes to avoid being deluded by unrealistic dreams or impractical ideas. In the rational, scientific climate of today’s world, such an approach to problems is very attractive.

However, this attitude has led many to stop believing in God. They feel that it is impossible in this scientific twentieth century to believe in an invisible, superhuman Person who created everything. They prefer to look to science for answers to questions such as “How did we get here?” and “Where are we going?” So, are those who do believe in God unrealistic?

One reason some deny the existence of God is that they feel that science has made such belief out-of-date. Is this true? Well, few of us are scientists, but surely it would be realistic to consider what scientists themselves have to say on the matter. An article in the magazine New Scientist states: “The lay view persists—of scientists having ‘disproved’ religion. It is a view that commonly expects scientists to be nonbelievers; that Darwin put the last nails in God’s coffin; and that a succession of scientific and technological innovations since have ruled out the possibility of any resurrection. It is a view that is wildly wrong.” (Italics ours)

The article added: “Scientists are not notably irreligious. There are no reliable surveys on which to draw, but a straw poll among universities, research establishments, and industrial laboratories indicates that as many as eight of every 10 scientists follow a religious faith or countenance principles that are ‘non-scientific.’” Speaking realistically, surely the fact that many scientists have some faith in God is evidence that modern science does not make it impossible to believe in his existence.

The apostle Paul developed a powerful argument that has led many realists to believe in God. He said: “[God’s] invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship.” (Romans 1:20) Paul could see the beauties of creation, the wondrous variety of life and the awesome starry heavens, and in them discern some of the qualities of the one who created them. Modern science helps us to see how intricately designed natural things are, what power and wisdom were necessary to bring them into existence. Hence, in some ways the natural world today gives an even more powerful witness to the existence of God.

God DOES exist...three SOLID reasons,
1) look at the architecture of the environment, everything is interconnected- everything fits perfectly into place
2) in most religions there is a common pattern within their belief structure (creation, flood, etc) also, they believe in the same heaven and hell realms (good and bad)
3) the countless messengers that have been sent to earth who have performed miracles (things that science cant explain)

If you need more convincing, pay a visit to a local library.
good luck!

I think the bigger issue--besides faith--is being able to see Jesus' love in the lives of those who claim to follow Him. I think the lack of His love in the lives of too many people who CLAIM they are His followers--even though their lives say otherwise--drive a lot of people away from the notion that God is real, that the Bible is true, etc. I'll just leave my answer at that and hope that you'll let me answer any other questions you may have if I am able. Feel free to e-mail me at chad@jesusfreak.com if I can help.

Look at it like this; what's the worst that could happen if we all believed and practiced the 10 Commandments.

We would all get along much better while we are alive and on earth and also will get you a seat in heaven if your faith allows.
