Why won't He alleviate my suffering?

Hunny, I know what you are going through. I wasn't dealing with physical suffering, but I was going through alot of emotional issues ... most of which involved my doubting the existence of god. I prayed for an entire year and asked him to help alleviate my doubts and show me the way. I prayed for a solid twelve months ... and I never got an answer. God never showed up. It was at that point that I realized that either he didn't exist or he didn't care about me. I have alot more peace now that I've accepted that I'm an atheist ... I don't have the disappointments of waiting on assistance that will never come.

several reasons -
hes gone deaf in his very old age,
he's gone walkabout and has not returned yet,
he's probably dead or
he's only answering the "intelligent" prayers, not the ones who always ask "gimme gimme gimme"

If you are suffering, you made those choices to get into this mess, and you must choose to get out. The bible even says that too.

Now of course there will be people who tell you that "god wont give you any more than you can handle" - but how many people have killed themselves because they couldnt handle whatever suffering god supposedly chose to test them with?

All things work together for good.
The BIble does not say that all things are good, but all things work together for good.
All suffering can be turned into blessing.
We suffer for blessing or for discipline.
If you are a Christian, this is the only chance you get to suffer. The only chance to trust God.
To depend on Him.
To claim His promises.
To stand still and watch the delieverance of the Lord.
To cast all your cares on Him, because He cares for you.
The battle is the Lord's.
Your suffering is nothing compared to the blessing that awaits believers in Heaven.
NOTHING.
Jesus Christ suffered.
We all suffer.
I am in pain every day.
I love life.
I can't wait to die though.
I am extremetly happy right now.
I am sorry for your suffering.
Peace out.

God is watching you and let you suffer as a consequence of what you have done and of what you are doing now. You have lost your faith to God. Why not pray to him and ask for forgiveness, so you return back to God. Read the whole book of Job in the old Testament of the bible, then you may know that his faith to God was not lost although how much he suffers but at the end, he was blessed by God. For you own sake and for you to be save, do not blame God of your present situation. Ask repentance and always pray to God.

I'm so sorry you are suffering. I'm a firm believer though that God knows what is best for each of us. You may not see the big picture now, but He is working in your best interest. Take care and hang in there. God Bless :-)

2 Corinthians 12:7
Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me -- to keep me from exalting myself!

What if you could wave a magic wand and eleminate, not just your suffering, but the suffering of the whole world. No hunger, no violence, no poverty, no ravages of nature like hurricanes or tornados.

BUT

For that to happen, you had to rob God of all of His glory. Would you sacrifice the Glory of God for the comfort of man? Would you trade the glory of God, to stop evil dictators?

What if God were to get glory from you, as you trust Him and love Him dispite your suffering? But if that suffering were relieved, and God would get no glory, would it be worth it?

How long are you willing to suffer? I mean really suffer, like believers do in N. Korea, Red China, Saudi Arabia, Pakastan, Uzbekistan.

2 Corinthians 4:17
For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,

Remember that your temporary suffering, if you are suffering for your faith, or suffering faithfully, is just temporary.

Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

The weight of glory that awaits those who suffer for Godliness is great.

Romans 2:7
to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;

1 Corinthians 2:9
but just as it is written, "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."

are you saved....god often brings about suffering to bring people to him...when you realize that nobody can stop the suffering but God than thats where you will go....examine your relationship or lack of one with Christ...fix that and than allow him to work in your life. Also remember that God does not close a door without opening another...the trick is to go to the other door instead of pulling on the locked one

Oh, how He desires to take you out of your pain! The problem is that you haven't really believed in Him. You ask doubting that He is going to answer your prayer. His Word says to ask Him in the name of Jesus, beliveng that you will recieve. Have you done that? Do you really believe in His love and desire to feel His presence? He loves you VERY VERY VERY much but there's nothing He can do unless you let Him. Get rid of any double-mindedness and doubt. Give it all to Him and have faith that you will see it come to pass. He knows your heart and will help you when YOU decide. He is there for you, open the door to your heart.

Matthew 6:6 (New Living Translation)
But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Matthew 7:7-10
7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!

***You gotta believe He is your Father!

Just know that he will not allow your suffering to get too bad to where you just can't handle it. The bible says everyone must have their share of sorrows in this life. Just be persistent in asking him for help and he will.
