In a speech, the "link" comes after the "attention-getter," what exactly is the link? Give examples? Help? :)

So BAM the car takes out the post bow sending flying through the neighbor's window, knocking the neighbor's Christmas tree into her holiday buffet and as the sparks began to fly from the light to the table cloth to the curtains and the walls eventually burning down the entire neighborhood and half the city for that matter.
