A believer said, in another question, that just because someone doesn't believe in God doesn't mean that he's not real. Well that person has to have a reason to not believe right? So why is that reason any less significant?

But WHERE's the proof that he exists?

See my struggle here?

I'm not denying him.....I just need some PROOF...

Help me out here please...

Hey Jesus! It's people like you that turn me away from God! I HAVE read the entire Bible. I was raised Lutheran and grew up involved in my church.

Therein lies the problem.

If I say I don't believe in a god, that does not imply anything about his actual existence. I could also not believe in George Bush, but he's real. By the same token, I can believe in the little green men that share the oval office with Bush. Again, fine, I'm crazy. Belief is not proof or finality. There is absolutely no way to prove or disprove the existence of god, therefore belief is all we have. Pick the one that feels right, but never call it fact.

Did they say that their belief proves the existence of God? I believe that God is real, but I can't prove it. I can't prove that there is gravity. I can prove that there is something holding two things close together (such as me and the Earth), but I can't prove gravity. If I were to say that I don't believe in Gravity, that wouldn't disprove it. However, if I said I believe in Gravity, that doesn't prove it either.

So, I think you're right. Belief in God doesn't prove that God exists, but it can be evidence to support the plausibility of God. If people you trust believe in God, then you should definitely investigate that idea for yourself. And if they don't believe in God, you should still investigate the idea anyway.

The reason why you don't believe in the existence of God is that you refuse to read our bible or refuse to understand it because you have planted your belief in the teachings of the people in your community which is wrong, yet you insist your way of thinking that you will be the one to believe by the religious people on earth. You should not do this and when you ask a question, it should be a question for you to study, for you to learn something new to you and for you to analyze the truth of it.

An interesting book to read on the subject is "Why We Believe What We Believe," by Andrew Newberg.

Our belief is not proof of his existence. He exists whether we believe in him or not. That's part of what makes him GOD.

There is evidence of God all around us. The Bible says that since that beginning of time, through Creation, God has revealed himself, so that mankind is without excuse.

Others demanded additional "proof" and were told that "without faith it is impossible to please God." When someone chooses to believe and steps out in faith, he or she then begins to really see and understand God in a new and real way, but it doesn't happen before the step of faith. That is a Scriptural principle.

Blessings.

If you don't believe in God, you believe that He doesn't exist. To believe in God, you have to believe that He exists. Saying you don't believe in God is atheism. Saying there might be a god is agnosticism. Saying you believe in a god is theism. Jesus says, "If anyone is not for me, he is against me."

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Non-believer's case:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's case:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

Your problem is semantical in nature.
Something can exist and you can believe in it.
Something can NOT exist and you can believe in it.
Something can exist and you can NOT believe in it.
or
Something can NOT exist and you can NOT believe in it.

There are four possible scenarios, not just two. I would dispute your assertion that believing in god means he exists. The two are not related.

BELEIEVING in Him, is actually TRUSTING Jesus to help you in your daily life. John 14:6, Revelation 3:20. 1John 5:11-12; John 1:12.
