Have you seen the "Catch a Predator" series on Dateline NBC?

One never knows who's reading these forums. Chances are slim that anyone will post illegal activities in this forum. However, there are other forums like myspace, facebook, AOL and Yahoo where such activities are mentioned in code. Perverted Justice uses decoys posing as underaged boys and girls and men fall for the bait and start talking sex to these decoys. In nearly all states, soliciting a minor for sex over the Internet is a felony.

It is a crime to have knowledge of someone else committing a crime that has already or will be committed and not tell the authorities. I would let local law enforcement know and then don't worry about it if they pursue the lead fine if they don't your in the clear anyway. How do you people come up with this stuff.

I seriously doubt that any sensible law enforcement person would pay much attention to this particular website.
Most police work is tedious investigations into real events.
If J.D. Cooper came on here and told his entire scenario, he would most likely be 'taken with a grain of salt.'
Much police work is responding to 'tips.'
A genuine 'tip' could occur here but there would need to be someone in authority reading it to recognize it as genuine (million-to-one chance).
