Is your fridge cold enough? Make sure it is set on number 4 at least. It should be about 40 degrees. If not, your food will spoil.

it DEFINETLY has nothing to do with the brand of milk that you are buying. And it ALSO has nothing to do with the store that you're buying it from.

The fools that say that, dont think about the fact that if the stores kept the temperature up too high, then all of the milk would go off before it even leaves the store. Leaving the shop owner with DOZENS of bottles of milk every week that would need the bin. And that would amount to a VERY BIG loss for him.

It is DEFINETLY your fridge thermostat being set too high.

That depends as it could have gone on a delivery truck and toted back to the store. When you buy milk pick the bags way in the back of the other ones as they keep the fresh in back because they want to sell the near almost out dated milk first.

Because you've opened it. If you opened the milk on Feb 1st and the "best before" date is Feb 15th then the closer the air exposed milk gets to the 15th the more it breaks down and loses its freshness.. However, if you didn't open it until Feb 7th, it would retain it's freshness until the 15th and be much more fresh than if you opened it 2 weeks before.

This is with the assumption that you are describing an already opened carton/bag of milk.

Get the filtered milk, it lasts far longer.

I agree that your fridge is probably too warm. Try buying the same brand of milk from a different store to see whether it's actually their refrigerator that's too warm or yours.

On the plus side though, if it smells okay, than you can still drink it. Or leave it out for the hedgehogs. heh.

Ok. First I guess you should check the temperature at your refrigerator... try to have it in 2 so it won't make all your food go bad earlier than they should... If that doesn't help then then you should check the brand of milk you're buying... maybe it's not that trustworthy....

sounds like you ought to check the temp of your fridge, the seal around its door, and consider whether or not you let the milk sit out and warm to room temperature during transport or use at meals.

Are you drinking directly from the container. Their are enzymes in saliva that expedite the spoiling process.
