I really like my Gamo Hunter 220 (.177 and 1000 fps). I've had it for about 8 yrs. The newer ones (higher than 1000 fps) are stronger, but it took me a lot longer to fine tune the sights. Could have been me.

"The best" - It's not even close "Feinwerkbau" has won more Olympic medals than all other airguns combined.

The FWB 124D is my favorite sporter. 850fps, almost match grade accuracy and maintenance calls for 1 drop of oil after the first 6 million rounds.

It really depends on how much you're willing to spend. The Beeman P-1 is a great pistol but it's going to cost you at least $400

Webley makes a couple of very nice pistols, the Tempest & Hurricane for around half that price. The Hurricane is my favorite but there's really not a big difference. Both are great shooters and will probably last you a lifetime.

I recommend the .177 over any other caliber airguns.

If you're looking for a high quality air rifle, check out the RWS Model 34.

I can't tell you who makes the best BB gun, but I can tell you form experience who makes the worst. The crosman 1008 pellet gun. It is the worst piece of crap I've ever owned. Had it in the shop more than in my hand. (Constantly leaked.) I finally gave up on it and ran it through a two ton press and sent it back to the manufacture with my complements. I then went out and bought an airsoft semi auto rifle (electric) and a semi auto pistol (gas) never had a problem with either. Both are fun to shoot when I can't get to the range and shoot rim fire or center fire. Keep my shooting eye in shape and my scoring honest... Good luck!
