What's the context... oh yes this is a proverb of wisdom talking about men who lie in wait on the highway waiting for someone to cross their path... then they will say "let us swallow them up as the grave..." The proverb is a warning not to abide with wicked men.
Psalms also has a fun one, there is a line that says," Only the fool says 'there is no God'" but people love to take it and just read the four words "there is no God".
Context. Try it.

What is wrong with Proverbs 1:l2? Their is nothing wrong about it if you only read the whole Chapter l of Proverbs. Do not just read one verse in order to understand what was written. Please read Proverbs Chapter l , verses 1 to 12, so you may understand what it means.

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
Perhaps he is bored by a sheltered life, and wants to do something "for kicks". Well, here it is.The perfect crime. Sudden and violent death, then a quick disposal on any tell-tale evidence. And the great ncentive, of course, is that they will all be rich overnight. There will be enough loot to fill the houses of all the accomplices. So the word is "Get with it, and you'll make a bundle. Everyone shares equally. YOu don't lose. But a wiser voice said "My son, don't do it. Stay as far away from them as possible. Have nothing to do with their plans for instant wealth. You can't win.".........

Proverbs 1:10-16
"My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them. If they say, 'Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul; let's swallow them alive, like the grace, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; throw in your lots with us, and we will share a common purse' - my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood."
The Bible is telling us to beware of sinners - they want to "swallow us alive" and take our souls to the grave. Solomon is telling us to turn away from them and fear the Lord. If you look at the context, you can see what he's getting at.

Before sending him to the United States for higher education, an Asian father advised his 16-year-old son not to get involved with bad people. This advice echoes Solomon’s warning: “My son, if sinners try to seduce you, do not consent.” (Proverbs 1:10) Solomon, however, pinpoints the lure they use: “They keep saying: ‘Do go with us. Do let us lie in ambush for blood. Do let us lie in concealment for the innocent men without any cause. Let us swallow them down alive just like Sheol, even whole, like those going down into a pit. Let us find all sorts of precious valuables. Let us fill our houses with spoil. Your lot you ought to cast in among us. Let there come to be just one bag belonging to all of us.’” Proverbs 1:11-14.
The lure clearly is riches. On the basis of making quick profits, “sinners” seduce others into involvement in their violent or unjust schemes. For material gain these wicked ones do not hesitate to shed blood. They ‘swallow their victim down alive just like Sheol, even whole,’ robbing him of everything he has, just as the grave receives the whole body. Their invitation is to a career in crime, they want to ‘fill their houses with spoil,’ and they want the inexperienced one to ‘cast in his lot with them.’ What a timely warning this is for us! Do not youth gangs and drug dealers use similar recruiting methods? Is not the promise of quick riches the temptation of many questionable business propositions?

It refers to the attitude of evil men, and a direct reference to causing harm to others as a means of enticing believers into sin.
It means do not let your anger at injustice, or the instigation of others urging you to do violence to cause you to sin.

You need the context:
10My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
11If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
12Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
16For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
