A OS IS JUST A OS. EVERYONE WANTS IT TO DO THE DISHES AND COOK BREAKFAST THEN READ THEM A BEDTIME STORY.DON'T FORGET THE COOKIES AND MILK. THAT'S WHAT I THINK ANYWAY.

This will sound crazy but lack of support for old hardware would be fantastic. That's one of the reasons Vista is slightly bloated, it's to keep those of you out there churning away on that give or six year old system happy (or any old hardware really). If you want the best, you stay on the cutting edge like me. I would have been perfectly happy if Vista didn't have support for... hardware older than three years.
Supposedly Vienna will do away with backwards compatibility with older systems, hardware and software. Let's hope so. I really do hope so.
Oh yeah, more pretty Visual effects. That'll work too.
I don't really care about DRM because it doesn't limit me in what I do. So what, you need HDCP support and HDCP monitors to view HD-DVD or Blu-Ray content and... you don't have a monitor or video card that supports HDCP... then your computer sucks.

A good FTP, one that isn't full of bloat and is part of the OS natively.
