Basically, I am trying to use the scan feature but an error message occurs - "No Scan Options" which leads me to believe I need to be connected to a network/server. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to go into the HP Solution Center that was installed with your drivers and set the "Scan To:" options. I was having this same problem and setting those options fixed it.

Sounds like either your rpinter drivers or the software that came with your printer is glitched or not installed.

Of course you can as long as its connected to your pc. The images you scan will then go directly to your pc.
