If you are sensitive to decongestants (i.e. they keep you up at night), you can try OTC nasal sprays for short term use. Dristan and Afrin are both available OTC in 12-hour formulations. Also, a saline spray like Ayr may also work and can be used for extended periods.

Please go in the bathroom, turn the shower on with the hottest water, and stand on the bathroom floor, or sit on the toilet seat, with the bathroom door closed, to help keep the steam in. Stay there for a few minutes, or if you want to get in a take a nice warm shower, put your nose under the water for a few quick seconds, (holding your breath, mouth closed), that I have found helps my nose loosen up the mucus in there better. Or, if you have a humidifier you can put that on a table or chair (best with towl underneath in case of drops of water) in your room for while you are sleeping. Hope that helps you. Take care.

I stand in front of the tea pot and breath in the steam for a few minutes. Then I rub a little eucalyptus oil under my nose. Vicks vapor rub will help, too.

Blow your nose before bed or get one of those air machines that clear up the air, ha ha I can't think of what they're called but it'll help a lot! It clears up the air and helps you breath better.

You could try SinuCleanse. Let me know how it works, because I have no idea.
It's based on an old yoga cleansing instrument called a Neti Pot.

I saline nasal spray does wonders. You may want to check with your doctor to see if you have alergies or a deviated septum.
