Your dog needs to see a vet. This is not normal, by any means. If this has been going on, call your vet first thing in the AM and get an appointment ASAP. If this is new, go to a 24-hour vet NOW.

Dachshunds as a breed are plagued by back problems, and weakness in the back legs can be a sign of something extremely serious. Quick treatment can sometimes be the key to saving their ability to walk, so please don’t waste any more time and take him to the vet within the next 24 hours. If you don’t, you may end up with a paralyzed doxie.

Daschunds have lots of back problems, particularly with discs. If his disc is "slipped" it can cause numbness and pain. He definitely needs to be seen by a Vet, preferably a specialist in orthopedic veterinary medicine.

Hi, this happened to my dog. I thought he was in his last days and couldn't imagine why he was shaking. The shaking was due to pain.

It turned out that he developed neck and spinal problems from jumping off the bed, etc.

He told me that this happens to long low to the ground dogs (esp a dachund!) like mine which is a Lhasa.

The doctor gave me some arthritis medicine to help with the inflammation and he was him old self again!

Thank good ness because I cried all night because I thought his internal systems for closing down on him.

Depending on age and health it could be many things heart problems, seziers, a hole lot of other things. your best bet is to get him to a vet in the morning eplane it all to the vet let him know how long this has been going on and of any other health issues the dog may have.

It sounds to me like your dog is having seizures. If that's it then the best thing you can do is talk calmingly him and rub him reassuringly, I'm sure he's scared too. But please do get him to the vet. It could be poisoning...nation pet poison control #1-800-213-6680. Call Them.

Seizures, maybe? The only way to know for sure what's going on is to consult your vet. Call an emergency vet clinic, IMMEDIATELY!
