I own one and he is a male. He is about 8 months old and just completed his basic training. He is very smart. He is also very funny and active. Out of nowhere he starts dashing around the house as fast as he can just for fun. He also enjoys the snow and usally digs in it and comes inside the house with his face covered in snow. He also enjoys barking at the charger. I dont know how anyone can dislike this breed.

We had one named Pety. One day he took of down my aunts hill and ran into the cow pasture. There he began the process of jumping behind the cow, bitting it's tail, and the cow began dragging him and he just hung on to that cow's tail! Lol, great memories. Have fun with yours!

We rescued our Jack in 2002 from an abusive home, at the age of 8 months. They told us she was 'retarded', their words, not ours...the first day with us she was lying and sitting on command. The only thing she'd been lacking in order to be a great girl was some attention. While she was with them she destroyed a kitchen (bottom cupboards) and a sofa that was in the basement. Once we got her however she destroyed one thing...which was lying on the floor...a pencil. She's never chewed, destroyed or otherwise caused any problems since coming to live with us.
She's soon 5 years old and she has a large range of tricks she loves to show off. She's currently learning to close the door behind her once she lets herself into a bedroom. She began training for this just a few days ago.
Her cutest trick has to be playing War with our youngest daughter...she's pretty darned good at it too :)
Our lady isn't hyper at all and she is very well behaved and listens well. She loves to snuggle under bed covers or under her own 'blankie' and well...she's just plain spoiled. She's been exceptionally healthy and although she has been fussy about what she eats, we finally found Beneful Salmon flavor which she absolutely loves. However, she's a sneaky one and I will fill her dish in the morning which will stay that way til everyone goes to bed...then by next morning the dish is empty (she's a midnight snacker :)
We'd have another Jack anytime...they are truly adorable, intelligent and very loyal dogs.

I love them. I had to take care of my Aunt's Jack Russel Terrier named Mitzy while she had went on vacation in the Philippines, and she was very sweet! She was really active, and every time you said the word "ball", she would get really excited and run around the house and she wouldn't bark unless we put her in her cage.

Yes i like them. My grandparents have one, and he is the most obedient dog. He is very easy to train. They have heaps of energy so they need many walks. But he tends bury toys or bones in the garden!. He responds to my grandfathers wistle to run back when out for a walk!.

I call my sisters dog the jack russell terror...he's not as bad as some and worse than others....they jump over almost anything. (furniture, fences, you....) they climb (the furniture, trees, you....)
They're prone to allergies. ( my sister gives hers Benadryl) and special food ( he's allergic to corn). He is cute and very nice...
They like women more than men...(I'm not just saying that....it's true.) They need LOTS of run time/play time....and they chew. (the furniture, toys/fences, you....)
They have short hair and don't shed much...don't smell bad and they have great personalities, if you can look past all the jumping and other things...

I've "met" & hunted w/DOZENS of JRT & they are NOT "my cuppa tea"!
Do NOT like whitedawgs & NOT care for their temperament.
That's WHY there are nearly 200 RECOGNIZED breeds,so people can find that suits THEM>
