Our Dj we are having has a karaoke set up and a beautiful song that I really love is From this moment by Shania Twain and I thought it would be sweet to sing that to him. I dont want it to be cheesy. What does everyone think?

I think it is a great idea it would be a nice surprise and I think your soon to be husband will love it as much as he loves you. The song is an awesome one and with your voice and the love you two share it will not only make it more special to you but it will make your soon to be marriage a happy and loving one.

I think its a cute idea. I don't think its that cheesy - and so what if anyone does. I think your husband will think its sweet and will love it. Its your day and your reception. You are allowed to be a little sappy and cheesy if you want. My husband and I were seriously considering Karaoke at our wedding reception. If we had had it, I probably would have done the same thing. I know he would have loved it. Someone said in an earlier post that she didn't think karaoke was classy enough for a reception. It really depends on the type of reception you are having. Ours was more like a big party and everyone had a blast. We had bellydancers (as I bellydance myself) and afterward, we just put on music and everyone got up on the stage and danced and had a blast. I still get compliments on how much fun it was. Go for it. Its your day. Have fun and enjoy it and make lots of memories to share with future generations.

I agree with the person who said it would be sweet but cheesy. I hope, for the sake of both of you at that moment that he is not made uncomfortable by that sort of thing. It would make me (I'm a guy) want to hide under the table. I wouldn't do it of course, I'd just sit and smile through the whole thing, but I sure as heck would be wishing my fiancee were doing an abbreviated version of the song. Besides, I mean, Shaina Twain...... I am not too familiar with her music, but surely you could find something a little less tacky, and I furthermore I would be surprised at any heterosexual man who could truly enjoy Shaina Twain.

Just my opinion, no offense please.

I think it would be a cool idea if it were the lead in to everyone get a chance to do karaoke. May be by volunteering to be the first it wouldn't seem cheesy and self promoting.

Personally, I think it's cheesy for you to sing. I also am not a fan of the karaoking either; I don't think it's classy to have at a wedding. Karaoking should be reserved for drunk people at bars, college kids, etc. If you want to karaoke, I would do it at your bachelorette party.

I think it's a great idea, only because I did it 11 yrs. ago at my wedding.
We didn't have karaoke, but I did a solo for him, Debbie Gibson's "Lost in your Eyes".

It was a surprise for him, and he had tears in his eyes, everybody else there thought it was amazing I was later told....even the women who were catering came out of the kitchen to hear me sing.
It was something I would do again in a heartbeat....maybe if we ever renew our vows, but I would do a more modern song(ha,ha)

Good Luck with your wedding plans

According to what I been told it's all about what the Bride wants and it doesn't matter what any one else thinks, or wants. Also video tape it you may get a kick out of it in your old age years.

He would love that :) Just makw sure he doesn't hate the song or anything, just try playing it sometime and see what he says. If he does react positively, go for it!
