Then why am I fantasizing about you, when I know that I will never get to meet you in person?

I don't actually crush on celebrities, I crush on their characters. I'm not really interested in 'getting' them, I just enjoy the crush. These little one sided relationships can be surprisingly satisfying, I don't have to worry about my appearance or clothes, if I want to spend time with them I pop in whatever movie they're in. No big fights, no emtional turmoil. Keeps it simple. I should add here as a caveat that I am an artist and these movies are just background while I'm working on whatever project I'm invovled in. I almost never actually sit and watch tv without having some activity in my hands.
I'm a rather happy single person and don't want to complicate my life with a time consuming relationship. If I do start to get a crush on a real person it's much easier to just transfer those feeling to whatever movie character most reminds me of them. Honestly I'd rather just not have the feelings, but we're hard wired for them so I'm doing the best that I can.
There was a guy several years ago that I worked with that I started to like so I transferred those feeling to Harrison Ford (didn't want the whole complicated work thing) Then the guy started to make me think more of Kramer so I moved on...
My current crush is Heath Ledger's character in The Brothers Grimm. I also like him in Casanova, but that character is just a bit full of himself for my taste. His character in Brokeback Mountain is too reserved and I don't like tragedy.

That is a good question. We crush on them because they look better than the average person because they get plastic surgery and are on strict diets so they look their very best. Also, Because it gives us a fantsasy, something to dream about. We know they have alot of money, and we could only dream of having that much $$$.

You don't love them, you just adore them, are jealous of them, and they're role-models to you. You'll know what love is when the time comes, and stay with your own age group in dating or trouble can happen.

It's because they are safe. You don't need to actually get to know them or to deal with their issues. You can fantasize about a "perfect" person. It's fairly healthy and normal if you don't let it get out of control.

Like so many said "we want what we cant have". We all dream of things that are all so likely to never happen. So why not? Dreams or fantasies are what keep us going!

cause theyre all pretty much hott and i dont know about you but i think most girls or people in general want things they cant have...longing for something and working to get it is half the fun..when things come easy its boring...you want a challenge or at least to fantasize.

Because they are for the public to love. Without us, they wouldn't be living as luxuriously as they do now. But, in return, their lives belong to the public.
