How cool is this? I spent a year in Ghana in the Peace Corps and learned some Twi. It's the Asante (Ashanti) language from south central Ghana in the region around Kumasi - and now you've gotten me homesick for the country.

Twi is a major language, but only one of 57 indigenous tongues spoken throughout the country, most of them very different from each other. Like most former colonies, Ghana is not a natural country and was given its borders only for the convenience of the colonizers, in this case England.

Ghanaians are the friendliest people on Earth, which you might already know. I have no idea where to find lessons on Twi but I'm sure they're on the Internet somewhere. Good luck and have fun (where are you from, by the way?).
