I am a woman and I hate it. It makes them look older and funny looking. Even if they are balding, I think they should keep whatever hair they have. That looks better than NO hair. 60's and 70's guys looked much better. Hope this style goes away quick.

This is not a question as for trying to mask the inevitable situation of going bald. This is a question as for why do so many young men age 16-30 cut their hair so short? Is it to avoid having to pay for a haircut? I have heard they cut each others hair. Are they just too cheap or usually broke? Is it to avoid the possibility of having to submit a length of hair for a drug test? It seems many also practice Brazilian hygiene of shaving all hair on their bodies. Is this also connected to that hygiene statement? Are they so insecure that they think their hair looks bad? Do they all like the situation where they are hard to identify as they all tend to look the same? Are they a bunch of guys that can't get into the military service but want to look like they are? Are they just like someone said, they just don't like to have to mess with their hair and just to lazy to mess with it and just go? Do they do this in some sense of stating they are skin head sympathizers and agree with white supremacy? Is this a hang over from looking "punk"? Do the girls and young women like this and find it attractive? Has this come passe' ?

its because a few guys saw me with my head shaved in 1995.at that time, you could walk around the city all day without seeing anyone with thier heads shaved.men have no originality at all.they see what looks good on one guy,and they run home and copy it.im pissed.no fair!!!.they all stole my look.shave your head, get dark sinister looking sunglasses and you are an instant bad ***.hmmmmm whata crock.im getting to a point where i just want to start picking a fight with these whimps.same thing happened with tattoos.i got my last tattoo in 1975.35 years before they were in fashion.i had to wear long sleeve shirts for 20 years to hide mine and now everyone gets to walk around flaunting thiers.also i got mine while serving in the u.s navy.what a travesty

Many young men just don't want to have to deal with the trouble of washing and brushing their hair. They would rather just get up and go.

I dont know what the real reason for them shaving their hair off is, but where I live the only people you see bald are gang bangers (Surenos). (Nortenos) tend to slick their hair back, and ther rest have hari but in different styles.

It's because their hairline is receding and they can't deal with it so they cut all of it off thinking it looks better than going bald. After all so many girls prefer their guys to have a full head of hair.

I guess it is just the latest style, but seems to have spread all over and stayed for awhile, now.

You have to understand: By the time they get to the age of 50, half of all men in America have male pattern baldness.

Some time ago, a lot of men regarded it as a disease. So there was a lot of business in wigs and "cures" for baldness that have proven ineffective. Pharmaceutical products such as Roagine have proven ineffective, as will as Propecia. They only delay the balding progress, and eventually these men will end up bald anyway.

Medical science has not yet developed a way to stop the balding process in men. But medical research should be directed towards effective treatments for problems like cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. You can survive many years being bald, but those other ailments can eventually kill you or put you in a nursing home for the rest of your life.

Especially with the mentality of military service for many young men, and the fact that that there is not really a cure for baldness, many men out of frustration, or otherwise, are shaving it all off. And in the business environment so common in government and business settings, it seems that it is better off to shave off all the hair, whether it is in a state of decay or still luxurious to set the impression with management to get ahead in your career, especially if you are in the military.

With the rock music scene dying out and people struggling to get ahead, the days of Beatle haircuts and long sideburns are over.

Its just because they probably want to look more guyish.I think its because younger skaters wear the shaggy hair and they want to look opposite from that.
