The likely hood of getting cancer from it is slim to none. Otherwise, why would they sell them? And if it does cause cancer, it will take many many years. It seems that everything we are surrounded by causes cancer, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Do you look into the microwave when you cook? Sometimes when I look into it it gives me a headache, but this is more of a visual effect that causes it.

There is very little evidence that microwaves can induce cancer. Most studies that supposedly 'prove' it are not very well done.

In my field of research we work with a machine called a NMR spectrometer. That machine emits enough microwaves to be a serious threat to anybody with a pacemaker, and indeed, for having worked a little on it as a student, I can tell you you feel kind of hot in the NMR room, even if the temperature is kept quite cool. Those machines also use the most powerful supraconducting magnets available on the market, and you better empty your pockets of any credit card you dont want to wipe out before you go near it.

I know several people whom have worked as operators on these machines, on an everyday - 7hrs/day basis for years, and none of them has cancer (or any other bizarre, unexplained or rare disease) to my knowledge.

We've had one for at least two years now but my husband's cancer is a recurrence of his cancer he had 23 years ago. Not related to the microwave I'm sure.
