Just curious I know I can't really buy one. And is it really some of the chemical that make it the best sounding violin?

They can sell for abour $4 million American dollars.

I've herd that it could be many factors,
The sound post vibrating into it's perfect place to get the best sound;
Some of the chemicals in the stain of the wood used on the outer part of the violin;
and/or the exact way of how Antonio Stradivari* cut and put together the violin.

*Stradivari is the guy's last name, Stradivarius is the name of the type of violin, there is a difference.

Hve you done any research on ebay? It appears that you can get some sort of replica for from anywhere from $50 to $400, but where are all the real Stradivarius's. It could be that they are there amidst the replicas but... Only thing I know for sure is that My Bratsches teacher or violon da gamba teacher told me once that her friend bought a real stradivarious for $64,000 and had it insured for $100,000. It has a dehumidifier and pampers and a pacifier too. No just kidding but they take good care of it. You would know its real when you see one. Its like the difference between seeing the Mona Lisa in person and a picture of the Mona Lisa. You'll know it when you see it. UGGH

The 1729 Solomon Ex-Lambert is about to auctioned off in April.. estimated price 1 million pounds.

Normally, they fetch in the 2-3 million range. The secret of the sound is unknown-- there are guesses that it has to do with a secret varnish formula or the wood aging.
