I am a 34 yo male that doesn't want a girlfriend at the prersent moment due to personal reasons beyond my control. I haven't dated in 12+ yrs. Now, I am being called gay when I know I'm not. I do not hate women at all. I have female friends but I am still being called gay. Why is that?

I know what you mean. I say that I don't want a boyfriend (just because I have better things to want), and people think I'm a lesbian. But I don't want a girlfriend, either.

Well if you don't want a girlfriend, that's not normal expecially since you haven't dated for 12 years. Start masturbating, and get closer to your female friends. Make sure you make your friends know you're scared of guys, become a little homophobic like me. If you don't want a boyfriend or a girlfriend, and it's been 12 years, could it be depression?

Think is gay people usually do have lots of female friends, you know you can help them pick out dresses, makeup, and they can get changed in front of you without being embarressed, so i wouldnt really list that as necessarily a possitive. Maybe your friends think your gay becuase you havent dated in 12 plus years, maybe you are gay?

some people think that it's impossible for a man your age to not want a girlfriend.. or be looking for a marriage partner. so they just assume they like the guys.. crazy, but that's just what some people begin to think.
my brother is 37 and never been married and people have even thought he was gay but i know for a fact that he likes 100% females.

It's just cruel people that can't keep their opinion to themselves. And because of the rampany media flood over the last few years about homosexuality. Now everyone who isn;t ina relationship is being called "gay" by someone in their life. It's not just you. I'm sure there are 1000's of poepl on here who would like to never hear that again themselves.

You don't have to hate women to be gay. You just have to feel more attracted to the same sex. No dating for 12 years does sound odd. But if you are not concerned about it, forget what others say.

That is because most guys have girlfriends like every two weeks and if they don't they are not single for more than twelve years and sometimes when you tell someone that their first thought is to think that you're gay.

Not at all! Just cause you don't want to date someone doesn't mean your gay, just not wanting a relationship. Try and let your friends know your not, you could try pointing how hot that girl is or something, just so they know you are "looking" even if your really not.
