it doesn't have its own pulse because that would mean it had its own heart, it simply gives the illusion because it doesn't split into capillaries the same way your fingers do so you cant use it to check someones pulse and you can't really check your own in any way.

it's true but yet it isn't, why do you think your pulse is never taken with the thumb but with index and/or middle fingers? you can feel your own pulse through your thumb which in return can will give you a inacurrate rate of whom ever you're checking.

not true.....you should not use your thumb when checking someones pulse b/c you could easily confuse your pulse with the persons u are trying to check
