I have just realized that I am out of alchohol so I can't use it to put on my chest. Is there any other household items that can be a just as good substitute for rubbing alchohol?

Never use rubbing alcohol - in fact it's very flammable. Never use heating appliances or smoke if you are using alcohol products, you could get burned. It's really bad for your skin.

I would never recommend rubbing alcohol for this!

Here is a tpical treatment from the Internet:

People should take a shower after performing exercise for acne. And then use 2% of salicylic acid cleanser on the affected area with a fingers or brushes.

* Wear only loose-fitting clothes such as linen or cotton during treating the chest acne.
* Ointments and topical creams are used to treat this type of acne.
* Oral antibiotic is effective to remove chest acne.
* Use a noncomedogenic body lotion on the each chest acne.
* Benzoyl peroxide uses on the chest acne before going to the bed.

lemon or lime juice is natural will act as an astringent.Smells pretty good also
Alcohol is very strong and the fumes are not good for your eye and nose membranes.Peroxide is a good anticeptic and safer than alcohol. Try that item that is advertised on tv.I forgot the name its probably expensive but it may be just what you need. Oh by the way salicic acid is vinigar and is not harmful. It just doesnt smell as good as lime uice. I wouldnt recomend oral antibiotics as you may need them some day for a serious illness and you body can build up a resistance to them. A little vinigar or lemon lime juice with water is safe cheap and natural.

Rubbing alcohol increases your oil production. It is TERRIBLE for your skin. Please, please, please stop using it! If you are having breakouts use something for acne. Alcohol dries out your skin, which may seem like what you want but you skin will produce more oil trying to balance it out. You are stripping all the natural oils and messing with you ph balance. You are causing your skin to break out more.
Exuviance has a body wash that helps to clear up body acne. It has polyhydroxies that help exfoliate your skin. You can also use Dial antibacterial soap because it contains tri-closan which kills bacteria. Apple cider vinegar is also good but smells bad.

You can use Hydrogen Peroxide also, just put some on a cotton ball and rub it on the acne. Do this once a day until it is gone! ;)

rubbing alcohol isn't very good for your skin. you should follow what the other people are saying, they seem to have good advice, except... DO NOT USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER! most contain acetone which is a really harmful chemical that can eat away at clothing, and damage your skin.

Honey remedy for skin blemishes.

Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a band-aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. usually works over night.
