I just got a puppy myself about 7 month ago, she is a yellow lap who was never trained to be on a leash, I had a hard time getting her housebroken, but we finally got over it. I had to dedicate one or two days to her. I made sure to watch her very carefully, and take her out almost every hour that way she does not have a chance to go in the house. I did that every chance I got, and gave her a treat when she went outside. It's also very important to walk the dog at the same place every time that way she feels comfortable and it's not always a new place. make sure to walk your dog for more than 15 min if you can, 20 min is just right so you give them a chance to get to know the area you live in. Your dog can only hold it for so long. Your dog will have to go eventually. It took me a while, actually it took me about a good 8 weeks to finally get her comfortable to everything and not go in the house.....GOOD LUCK

When my dog was a puppy I felt as though I had a newborn where I was constantly checking on the dog to make sure he didn't wet in the house. I took care of this dog like a newborn every so many hours I was outside with him teaching him to use the bathroom out side, not to long after that he would start crying to let me know he needed to use the bathroom. I now have had him four years now and he will wait until I get home to use the bathroom. U need to spend the time with your dog in order to know what he wants to do. If at some point the dog might go and start sniffing the carpet you need to take him out. You will get good results if you keep on your dog and keep taking him out. This will teach him that it's not aceptable to do his dirty in the house.

As soon as morning breaks take your puppy outside to the grass. after each meal and before bed. Best to take the dog to the same spot each day so that spot of the garden is there toilet area easier to clean up. remember u can use newspaper than take the newspaper outside and then take the newspaper away but this just makes the process alot longer. U can also use a key word eg wee wee which helps to know for when u go travelling with dog or out etc etc.

put the dog outside coz thats where they belong! your house will stink n the dog will have control over you for as long as it lives. the dog will see the inside of the house as its domain and whats going to protect your house n your yard. And to jess, they after an answer not an essay!
