She does not do it all the time. More like a trick (like someone who can touch their tongue to their nose) that she will do on command. It is beyond tip toe walking. She is on the very tops of her toes and can roll over onto the top knuckles of her toes. I'm not worried that she will do it all the time.

I did that all the time when I was a kid! Haven't thought about it 20 years... my feet are fine so I'd guess her feet will be fine too.

Kids love to figure that stuff out!

As long as she can and does walk normally sometimes, then she has just found and interesting skill. Buy her some nice, good fitting shoes (tight enough but not too tight) and then she won't be able to do it in her shoes at least. Don't encourage it or parade her like a trained monkey (although that would probably quash the behavior quickly) but don't freak out. Kids are very odd. Odd is normal for kids.

My brother walked the same way when he was the same age as your daughter. He is 54 years old now and walks like the rest of us.

Talented too! Maybe you should get her enrolled in ballet? She might be able to do that on her toes as well?

It's not something I'd encourage. Think of the shoe problems !!
