...would you quickly select an inexpensive item (e.g. a pack of gum, a candy bar, or a car air freshener) to add to your order, so that it would NOT be $6.66?

I ask because I have seen people do this.

No, thats reacting in Fear.
I quite Regularly (in the Past alot too) ring up 2.22 and 3.33 so on, not as much now-a-days, it has slowed down.
I had a Very Spiritual Pastor (could Really Preach some Annointed Powerful Messages) show me the Key to the Church Building one Time.
On the side of the Key was 6666666, Hahahahaha, didn't scare Either of us a bit!
Fear--get out of it, resist it, Leave it Alone.
Fear's No Good!
Ditto...............

I work in retail I've seen plenty of people do this to. I guess it is just superstition. If it was e I would probably do the same you never know there could be some type of bad luck behind it I guess I'm being a follower not a leader.

Years ago in California, the license plates hit the 666 sequence, 3 out of ten plates were returned. This was featured in the news papers when an elderly man got the plate 666KKK, he refused to put it on his car.

No. It's happened to me twice that I recall and I just laughed to myself and paid them. It doesn't mean anything to me. I know there are people who have changed their house number because it was 666 but I don't think I'd do that either. My apartment building got rid of apartment #13 a few years ago because someone was bothered by it. Now, the apartment next to #12 is called '#12B'

No, I'd just take back the $0.34 change from my seven bucks. I'm not afraid of the price tag of the Beast. BTW, if the bill came to $3.33, would that be a sign of the Coming of the Semi-Christ?

I would say sarcastically, well that's a lovely total now isn't it. I use to have a license plate that had 666 in it, and really was not bothered by it, but I got a lot of ribbing over it.

I was a cashier in college and it happened all the time. Some people would honestly freak out. That's evidence of instability if I've ever seen it.

It's happened to me a few times. Usually the checker and I exchange a smile. I don't intentionally change the total though.

Haven't you heard? It's bad luck to be superstitious.

Before I knew how stupid superstitions were I was guilty of that...My sister and I had that total when we bought something at the mall food court and bought an extra cookie because of it. I know its stupid now I wouldn't do it again.
